Multiple media outlets, including the most prestigious one in the United States, initially headlined their stories about Donald Trump backing out of the scheduled debate and saying he would only “debate” Harris if it was at a Trump campaign rally covered by a Republican propaganda outlet with outright misinformation:

(Note that the Times itself has corrected the headline so they haven’t quite reached this level of nihilism.)
Anyway, my position remains that if you have a six-figure job in political media and strongly believe that nothing you do matters (and therefore you cannot be held to any standards for professional conduct), you should quit and let somebody who actually gives a shit have the job.
